Welcome! We are so excited to be starting the 2025-2026 school year with you! This year, our whole school will continue to use Blogger to make regular agenda posts.
To make it easier for you, you can add the blog right on to the home screen of your phone or iPad, or tablet. We hope this makes communication between home and school easier and opens great conversations between you and your children.
The CBE and Mrs. Brinson will be communicating information to you through School Messenger emails titled, ‘Northern Lights News for ___”. These weekly emails will include a link to the Northern Lights School Website so messages can be translated into any language.
Please Read Below for some notes about the first day!
I can not wait to meet everyone on our First Day! Remember to bring: -a small snack and a filled water bottle -indoor running shoes that will be left at school. VELCRO or SLIP ON. These are used for running in the gym so please avoid crocs, sandals or slippers. -a change of clothes that will stay in the backpack, just in case -a backpack large enough to easily fit all of their things. Tiny backpacks can be frustrating and hard to zip when full.
Teachers will meet parents at the Hug and Go door and check your student in with their teacher. When it is time to go in, students will give their last hugs and say good-bye to their parents enter with the teacher. It is normal for some kids to feel upset. As hard as it is to send them off upset, please know that we have been through this before! We've got this! Most times crying stops pretty soon after coming in!
Hug and Go While our doors are by the Hug and Go Loop, this area is not for parking. This is intended to be a 90 second drop off zone, mainly suited to older students who know their way to their doors. Since you will need to exit the car to drop off and pick up your students, please get into the habit of either walking to school or leaving early enough to park on the street and walk from there to the school. Thank you for helping us keep our Hug and Go safe and running smoothy!
Enjoy your long weekend! See you all on Tuesday!
